MOBILE MOUNTAIN STUDIOS PRESENTS
You die. Your debt doesn't.
A roguelike deckbuilder where the trade economy is a co-equal weapon — build a deck, fight or bargain across a hostile sector, and service the Ledger before the interest buries you.
Free playtest build · Windows · Steam page coming later
In the lawless reaches, nobody flies free — you're working off a debt. Every human is born owing the Guild's Ledger. Captains work it down the only way that pays: hazardous ventures into the Verge. Die, and the unpaid balance simply transfers to the next captain the Ledger stakes. Pay it down in firepower — or in a sharper ledger.
Each turn, surge power to Weapons, Shields or Engines — supercharging that whole system. It sticks across turns and locks the moment you play a card. You're committing to a posture, not free-dialing.
Enemies have a Core, Weapons, and Engines. Blow out their guns and their attacks go Weak; cripple their engines and they take extra damage. A hard fight becomes a target-priority puzzle, not a damage race.
Cargo torn from your enemies becomes faction-specific cards at stations. Arm the Pirates and the Federation bolts its doors; bankroll the Merchants and watch prices melt. Every alliance is a trade-off.
Your run is staked against a loan that accrues interest every jump. Service it at stations, take Guild contracts to write it down — or let it balloon and watch the Guild take its cut off the top of everything you banked.
Three stages end at one of four rotating capstone bosses. Beat one and the Ledger offers an uninsured writ: one more fight against a Sector Overlord. Win, and the venture settles at double. Lose, and the run is written off.
20 Ascension tiers with new rules — not just bigger numbers. Daily and seeded runs for shared leaderboard-style challenge. Heirloom cards, a permanent hangar, and banked credits carry your legend between runs.
Mobile Mountain Studios is an independent studio building systems-driven games where the economy is as sharp as the guns. Lasers & Ledgers is our first title — in active development, shipping playtest builds while we climb toward a full release.
